A LEGACY OF STEWARDSHIP, EDUCATION & UNDERSTANDING
Middleton Place Foundation Celebrates 50 Years
The Middleton Place Foundation, a national leader in preservation, research, and education, kicks off a year-long celebration to commemorate this milestone and its commitment to inspire positive change through an understanding American history.
In 1974, Charles H.P. Duell established the Foundation to safeguard the legacy of Middleton Place National Historic Landmark and pursue its mission of preservation, research, and education. Middleton Place has become one of the foremost historic sites in the nation, encompassing over 300 years of history and culture. Over 100,000 people visit Middleton Place each year, where interpretive guides, artisan craftspeople, and educators offer authentic experiences that encourage people to deepen and broaden their perspectives, all through a profound exploration of American history.
Throughout 2024, as the Foundation reflects on its impact and looks to the future, we invite you to be part of a celebration of events, programs, and activities. Please take this opportunity to learn more about the history and culture of the Lowcountry and the stories of the people that make up our shared American history.
