The Inn

The Inn at Middleton Place offers relaxing accommodations in an atmosphere of unsurpassed natural beauty for a quiet vacation, a weekend getaway, or a mid-week business conference. The Inn's 55 rooms are secluded among tall pines and live oaks - only a short stroll from Middleton Place, iconic feature of the South Carolina Low Country and home of America's oldest landscaped Gardens.

Among only two hotels chosen in South Carolina, the Inn at Middleton Place made National Geographic Traveler magazine’s first-ever, annual “Stay List." The April 2008 issue’s “Stay List” celebrates 150 hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean region that are among the best at blending location-inspired architecture, ambiance and amenities, Eco-stewardship and an ethic of giving back to the community.

Dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows bring into every room all the rich tones of the outdoor woodland setting, with sweeping views over the winding Ashley River, where the rice plantation culture flourished more than 200 years ago.

Guests of The Inn have access to all the points of interest which make Middleton Place so fascinating.  In addition to the Gardens, begun in 1741, the House Museum (1755) offers tours daily and the Stableyards bring to life the sights and sounds of an 18th and 19th-century plantation.
