The May 9th Garden Stroll will be taken over by a special Rum Stroll event.
The Rum Trade in the Carolinas was massive in the 18th century. With close ties to Barbados, rum was certainly one of the drinks of choice in Charles Town throughout the 1700s.
History lovers will learn about the important role rum played in the culture of both Barbados and the American colonies. Guests will enjoy a number of rums from Barbados. Middleton Place’s historic Rum Punch and various food stations will round out a perfect evening with friends, old and new.
Tickets are $30 online and $35 at event.
Foundation member tickets are $25 online and $30 at event.
Online ticket sales close at 4 pm the day of the event. Tickets will be available at the door.
