How did people amuse themselves in the 18th Century? Interactive programs and demonstrations offer an incredible range of colonial sports, games, 18th-century country dances, needlework, painting in the gardens and music.
Special Activities Include:
Colonial Games including quoits, stilt walking, skittles, kite flying and more, including “tavern games” such as Shut the Box
Gullah Storytelling
18th Century Fashion Demos and “Ladies Toilette”(dressing, grooming, bathing, etc)
Naturalist – learn about the natural world around Middleton Place
Music and English country dancing
Event is held on September 13 and 14. Activities are included with general admission to Middleton Place (free for Foundation members).
