Annual Camellia Workshop
Sidney Frazier, dubbed “The King of Camellias,” will lead this lively workshop, covering several aspects of the camellia plant, from its origins in Asia and its various forms to care and maintenance. Expect expert advice in planting, watering, pruning, fertilizing, propagating, and disease identification and eradication.
Sidney Frazier, VP of Horticulture, has dedicated over 46 years to overseeing the care of the oldest landscaped gardens in America at Middleton Place. This is the time of year when camellias take center stage, providing vibrant color in the cold winter months. The camellias at Middleton Place are important because they are some of the oldest in America, first planted in Henry Middleton’s gardens in the late 18th century.
Tickets for the special Camellia Workshop are $10, and an advanced reservation and general admission are required. Proceeds from the workshop will help preserve and maintain the historic camellias at Middleton Place. Thank you for your support.
