Each week Middleton Place’s team of historians and interpreters are presenting fun and educational content, keeping students and families connected to American History and to Middleton Place.
Programming provides historical aspects of different monthly themes, connecting our lives today to the past.
“Plugged In To History” Schedule
Week of June 29
Join in this week as we continue June’s theme of Juneteenth and African American History.
Tuesday – 12 PM (Noon) “Let’s Talk Tuesday”
Join us as Master Gardner, Kim Pruitt explores African, African American, and Native folkways regarding plants used for food and medicine and how some of them are being used today.
Throughout July, we will examine many interpretations of “Independence” here at Middleton Place, with the 18th century and the Revolutionary War as a base and backdrop.
Thursday – 12 PM (Noon) “Explore More Thursday”
Historian Jeff Neale will kick off the month with a discussion about the Declaration of Independence.
Friday – 12 PM (Noon) Special Program
Historian Nicole Thompson will present a special program on Flag Etiquette.
