Now that you are spending more time in your households than ever, this week’s Plugged In To History is all about the home. Each day we will bring you a different program with stories of domestic life at Middleton Place in the 18th century.
Tuesday – 11:00 am “Let’s Talk Tuesday”
Chat with Historians on a variety of topics surrounding Living History and beyond.
April 7 – Middleton Place House Museum
Racena Bowen will present a short virtual tour of the Middleton Place House Museum highlighting domestic duties in the house.
Wednesday – 11:00 am “On The Farm”
Each week during the “On The Farm” program you will learn all about Stableyard life, from heritage breeds to farming and more.
April 8 – In The Kitchen Garden
Bob Sherman will take us on tour of garden plots in the Stableyards, and talk about an 18th-Century kitchen garden, what would have been in it and who tended it.
Thursday – 11:00 am “Hands-On History”
Do something together! Families or lifelong learners can follow along for at home with crafts, lessons, contests, home and garden projects, or cooking in the kitchen.
April 9 – Polishing Silver
We’re back in the Middleton House Museum with a demonstration of silver polishing, including the methods used to clean and preserve the Museum’s collection, along with tips for polishing silver at home.
