As part of the African Seed Exchange Educational Series, this program will explore the history and origin of chile peppers – where they originated from, how they became part of the Transatlantic Trade Exchange, and the usage in African American cuisine. Many different varieties of African and Caribbean chile peppers and their uses in both medicinal and culinary practices will be discussed.
