Join Kim Pruitt, Middleton Place Nursery Manager and discover the historical origins of peanuts and follow their journey to the New World via Transatlantic Slave Trade. Learn about the agricultural inventions and discoveries of African American scientist and educator George Washington Carver.

Try a sample of boiled peanuts, and engage in a discussion of Dr. Carver’s publication, “How to Grow the Peanut, and 105 Ways of Preparing it for Human Consumption.”
