The Middleton Place Foundation presents Living History Days– a long standing annual event showcasing the many different skills that were practiced by both enslaved and free people throughout the Low Country’s rich history.

Over 30 Historic interpreters and volunteers will demonstrate such skills as blacksmithing, carpentry, soap making, butter churning, indigo dyeing, and hide tanning. In addition, historic practices of agriculture and animal husbandry will also be presented, including sugar cane pressing and cow milking.

Living History Daysis included with general admission and takes place in large outdoor spaces with plenty of room for social distancing. Based on recommendations from SCDHEC and the CDC, we recommend guests wear a mask or face covering while outdoors in close proximity to others to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
