Enjoy a candlelight visit to the Middleton Place House Museum and then stroll over to the Middleton Place Restaurant for dinner. Guests will take a self-guided tour of the House Museum decorated for the holidays with guides stationed in each room. The menu at the Restaurant will include dishes inspired by Sarah Rutledge’s The Carolina Housewife, a cookbook published in 1847 that includes many recipes popular in the early 19th century. Come and enjoy a holiday evening meal in the company of Sarah Rutledge herself!

House Museum will be open for tours from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

What is the difference between this event and Grand Illumination?
The Christmas Candlelight and Dinner is a self-guided House Museum tour and a 18th/19th century inspired prix fixe meal in the Middleton Place Restaurant. The sold-out Grand Illumination event is a 45-minute walking tour of the Gardens and House Museum with theatrical performances that concludes with a family-style dinner in the Pavilion.
Is this event handicapped accessible?
The House Museum has very limited handicapped accessibility on the first floor only. The Middleton Place Restaurant has wheelchair access through the kitchen upon request.
No photography is allowed in the House Museum.
All sales are final and the event will take place rain or shine.
