Visit the Middleton Place Outdoor Center to talk openly with a trained naturalist. Friendly and knowledgeable staff will provide a thorough interpretation of the flora and fauna that can be discovered across the various ecosystems on the property. View and learn more about some of the native reptile and amphibian species, including a young American Alligator. Several education exhibits, birding checklists, field guides and a variety of nature books are on hand to look at. Before leaving, be sure to find out details regarding the nature walks, kayaking, teambuilding and curriculum-based school programs that are offered by the Center's staff.

OUTDOOR CENTER LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS Volunteers are needed to help staff the Outdoor Center, located near the Middleton Place Visitor’s Center and main garden entrance.
Guests who visit Middleton Place are invited to visit the center to learn more about the flora and fauna of the area and to see some of these native species up-close. The Outdoor Center also has several education exhibits, birding checklists, field guides and a variety of nature books available to the public. Outdoor Center volunteers can assist staff naturalists with nature walks, school groups, kayak tours, interact with visitors, and help care for the center’s reptile and amphibian residents.
